Eighteen months since the sad loss of John Michell, it seems appropriate to remember his engineering excellence from its beginnings when he built the 'Discovery' spacecraft for Stanley Kubrick's classic film '2001 A Space Odyssey'. Based on the Gyrodec, the Limited Edition Michell Odyssey will be produced in a numbered series of just 100 pieces supplied in an all black finish, with a black acrylic base and the signature weights suspended below the platter being nickel silver rather than the usual gold. The black damped chassis sits on a clear acrylic spider to give a second level of isolation as found on the Orbe. A matching black HR power supply and a black TecnoArm(a) complete the turntable.
